Suginami Animation Museum and Tokyo Anime Center, Akihabara Tokyo Japan

It was almost evening but we still had time to drop by the Suginami Animation Museum, which apparently was another awesomely fun and low cost venue to spend time in Tokyo especially for Anime fans (entrance is free!). The museum is open from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM and closed on Mondays.

We took the train to the nearest station which is Ogikubo station.

I've never been around this neighborhood as well but it looked really interesting! Also, there's a Book Off here which I love so much!

We were pressed for time, so we just hailed a cab to the museum.

Passing by this neat looking temple.

I've actually never heard of the Suginami Animation Museum before, but this is one of the first comprehensive Anime museums in Japan. Also, it turns out that there's plenty of Animation studios located in Suginami Ward, as well as various Anime production companies.

When we visited here, there was this cool display of a ginormous golden mecha and some character pop-ups from an animation series.

The souvenir stamp here is really large and beautifully detailed, so don't forget to collect it!

Awww..I love Chibi Maruko Chan!

This floor has a neat display of several notable characters from some famous Japanese Anime series.

Yey, Gundam!

I recognize Gegege no Kitaro and Astroboy!

Pikachu and Pokemon!

Hamtaro..lol

Some classic and well loved Anime directed by Yoshio Takeuchi.

Pretty Animation posters of the more modern era!

Gomachan is the cutest seal lol. I have his stuffed toy too!

There's a drawing area here wherein the children can design their own Gomachan!

Lots of them were really creative!

I loved the colorful ones the best!

After our short excursion in the museum, we headed to the train station to Akiba.

BOOK OFF!!!!!!! Plus. lol

Some of my favorite spots in Akihabara: the enormous Yodobashi building and the Gundam Cafe!

Kitty adverts on giant LED screens.

My friend brought me here to the Tokyo Anime Center which I'd never been to before. It looked pretty cool!

There was an ongoing mini exhibition of some gorgeous Anime illustrations.

Soooo pretty!

This was my favorite!

Some Anime merchandise were also for sale.

That was cute! We were then trying to find a good place for dinner nearby but we didn't see any that we all agreed on.

There seemed to be a bunch of restaurants down there.

This looks so tasty but still we walked on lol.

We ended up in a Korean restaurant which was awesome too since I'd never tried Tokyo's Korean food yet!

You can grill orders here on the table but we opted for some readily cooked dishes.

I liked how the names of the Korean dishes were in katakana which made it easier for me to read hehe!

The classic Japchae.

Sizzling Bibimbap in a stone bowl. It's very hot!

The Korean food here seems OK. Maybe it just lacked flavor and spice, unlike in Manila.

We went to Ameyoko after, in Ueno to soak up on the night life!

All the bars and outdoor eateries were packed full of customers! Anyway it's expected, plus on a Saturday evening too!
